Windows, doors and gateways have a special attraction and charm for outdoor photographers and that includes me and my Nikon D200. This dilapidated house attracted my attention because of the vertical planks and the horizontal window louvres. The lines are bold and the structure strong, though weathered. The green weeds and creepers and the brown stains, from the laterite soil, on the wooden panels brings out its rustic charms, painting it appropriately in earth colours. The house is symbolic of the ruggedness, resilence and old-world charms of the Malaysian people.
