Tg Balau, just off Desaru, offers a wide expanse of sandy beach where picnickers can frolic in its waters or play beach soccer, beach volleyball or just combing the beach. A nearby stall sells kites of all shapes and sizes and this has encouraged kite-flying in the strong winds that abound. This photograph captures a minor estuary with the banks intricately carved out by the in-coming and out-going tides four times a day. Since the sand is soft, the banks are constantly eroded and recreated. A Nikon 12-24mm lens and a low angle perspective captures the fast changing landform at its best.
